In summary
We designed and built a bespoke web application that enabled Forest Carbon to launch and scale its “Carbon Club”, allowing users to calculate, purchase and manage carbon offsetting through flexible subscription and one-off payment models.
The backstory
Forest Carbon is a UK-based organisation focused on carbon offsetting through woodland creation, restoration and long-term environmental stewardship. As demand for credible, transparent climate action grows, the business identified an opportunity to make carbon offsetting more accessible to individuals, households and organisations through a structured membership model.
The Challenge
Forest Carbon had a compelling proposition in the form of its “Carbon Club”, but lacked the digital infrastructure to deliver it effectively at scale. The concept required more than a standard marketing website - it needed an interactive, transactional platform capable of educating users, quantifying their carbon impact, and converting that intent into measurable action.
The core challenge was threefold. First, the client needed a way to clearly communicate complex environmental concepts—carbon credits, biodiversity impact, and project sponsorship - in a format that was accessible to both individuals and businesses. Second, they required a seamless mechanism for handling both one-off contributions and recurring subscriptions, integrated directly with their financial systems. Third, there was a need for robust internal tooling: dashboards, project management capabilities, and user account controls to support ongoing growth and administration.
Without a unified system, these processes would remain fragmented, manual, and difficult to scale—limiting both revenue potential and environmental impact.
Outcomes & Benefits
Solution provided
We delivered a bespoke web application, deployed as a subdomain extension of the main Forest Carbon website, ensuring a seamless user experience between marketing content and transactional functionality. Built on the Bubble no-code platform, the application was tightly integrated with Stripe to enable secure, flexible payment handling for both one-off contributions and recurring subscriptions.
At the core of the platform was a Carbon Offset Calculator, allowing users to estimate their environmental impact and immediately take action. This bridged the gap between awareness and conversion - transforming passive interest into measurable commitment.
The system also included project creation and management tools, enabling Forest Carbon to showcase and administer environmental initiatives. Google Maps integration provided a visual, geographic context for projects, reinforcing transparency and credibility. User account functionality allowed members to manage their subscriptions and contributions, while admin dashboards gave the client full operational
##
Outcomes & Benefits
The Carbon Club was successfully launched as a fully functioning digital product, providing Forest Carbon with a scalable, revenue-generating platform aligned to their mission. Users can now easily understand their carbon footprint, explore projects, and commit to offsetting through intuitive, guided journeys.
The integration with Stripe streamlined financial operations, reducing manual administration and ensuring reliable recurring revenue through subscription models. Internally, the dashboards and management tools significantly improved efficiency, giving the team real-time visibility over users, transactions and project engagement.
Crucially, the platform enhanced trust. By combining clear data, transparent project information, and a smooth user experience, Forest Carbon strengthened its credibility in a market where authenticity is critical.
Strategic impact
This project repositioned Forest Carbon from a service-led organisation to a scalable digital platform provider. The Carbon Club is not simply a feature - it is now a core growth engine, enabling the business to expand its reach across individuals, households and corporate clients.
The flexibility of the Bubble architecture ensures the platform can evolve alongside the organisation, supporting new features, additional project types, and deeper integrations over time. By digitising the full customer journe - from education to transaction to ongoing engagement—Forest Carbon is now equipped to scale both its commercial model and its environmental impact in parallel.
